HOW TO CLEAN YOUR CASTELL MENORCA
In Castell Menorca we are specialists in making high quality footwear. This makes our products durable, although their preservation requires some care. Therefore, we leave some cleaning and conservation tips for different skin types.
SPLIT LEATHER
This material is very strong and resistant, but very susceptible to stains and raindrops. How can clean the split skin? There are several products on the market that serve to clean this material, but we advise you to do it as the steps below:
With a soft-bristle brush, brush your Menorcan sandal cover to remove the dirt.
Then, pass baby wipes over it.
Let the Menorcan dry naturally, avoiding sun rays, heating or dryer.
Finally, you will have them ready to enjoy them again.
For oil stains, you have to put talcum powder on the stain and wait for the talc to absorb the oil and then brush. Our covers 1097-U-Iker Serraje and 1059 Rolls are made with this material, strong and resistant to use in your day to day.
NOBUCK
In Castell Menorca we use this material for our Menorcan covers, as in the 1056-2 Madona Nobuck, 1390 Kia Luis Nobuck and 1176 Iker Nobuck models. This material is very strong and durable, but its care is important. To clean the stains we recommend:
With a soft-bristle brush, brush your Menorcan sandal cover to remove the dirt.
Then, pass baby wipes over it.
Let the Menorcan dry naturally, avoiding sun rays, heating or dryer.
Finally, you will have them ready to enjoy them again.
SUEDE
The softness and thinness of this material is ideal for some covers. In Castell Menorca, besides Menorcan sandals, we have shoes like the 1968 Zen Luis Suede, which are made of this type of leather. Maintaining its initial appearance is not complicated, so we leave you some tips to clean the suede of your footwear:
With a brush remove dirt from the shoe.
With a damp baby wipe, rub very carefully.
Finally, let it dry naturally. Preferably in the shade.
LEATHER
This material has its own special care. The best way to maintain the initial appearance of footwear is to be cautious. We teach you how to clean the leather:
Remove dirt with a brush gently.
Use wet baby wipes and rub the shoe carefully.
Let them dry naturally, preferably in the shade.
For oil stains, you have to put talcum powder on the stain and wait for the talc to absorb the oil and then brush
Can I clean them with soap?
From Castell Menorca we advise not to use soap and detergents in the cleaning of the covers or any other type of footwear made with leather, provided it is not a soap or specific product for skins used in the manufacture of footwear.
But, what can we do if they get wet?
The advantage that the skin has, is that although they get wet it is very easy to recover the shoe. The solution is very simple: put some newspaper papers in your shoes and let them to absorb the water. Do not dry them with a dryer or with heating, otherwise the leather of the shoe can become burnt.
What if I get muddy?
It is best to let the mud dry in the shade. Once dry, brush the footwear very delicately and repeat the previous process.
